Preventing HPV Associated Cancers through effective provider education
VAX 2 STOP CANCER trains pediatric and family providers in Alabama to improve their HPV vaccination rate. As of July 2023, we have trained 292 healthcare providers and staff, from 76 practices, in 26 Alabama counties since the 2020 launch of our provider education program titled “Preventing HPV Associated Cancers Through Effective Provider Education.” The training includes best practices for an effective HPV vaccine recommendation starting at age 9, research-tested messages to answer the most common questions asked by hesitant parents, and strategies to decrease missed opportunities to give the vaccine.
