VAX 2 STOP CANCER shared our Provider Education Program with the entire team at Pickens County Primary Care, PC. We're excited to support this dedicated group of health care professionals, led by Drs. Julia Boothe and Neil Honea, as they use the Announcement Approach and V2SC resources when recommending HPV vaccination for their adolescent patients.

"She founded VAX 2 STOP CANCER with a clear mission: to prevent cancer by expanding the use of the HPV vaccine through education, public awareness, and advocacy...From the beginning, Barbara believed that the key to prevention was not simply awareness—it was trusted conversations between healthcare providers and families...What began as a small nonprofit quickly developed into a powerful statewide initiative." National Immunization Awareness Month:
A time to highlight the important role vaccines play in protecting individuals, families, and communities from serious and preventable diseases |
Throughout the month of August, health departments, medical groups, and immunization organizations, like VAX 2 STOP CANCER, educated and advocated for families and healthcare providers to have access to clear, accurate, and trusted information to make informed decisions about immunizations. When people have reliable resources and the opportunity to ask questions and get their concerns addressed, they are better equipped to stay up to date with recommended vaccines and protect themselves and those around them.
Trusted information empowers families, supports healthcare providers, and strengthens community health. |

The human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine has cut the cervical cancer death rate in England by 100% to zero deaths in young women aged 20 to 24 between 2020 and 2024, researchers have found. They estimate that HPV vaccination in England has saved 200 lives since it was rolled out in 2008. This study (the first of its kind) was published on July 11, 2026, in The Lancet. |

As reported in the BBC: Young women now have 'close to zero' risk of cervical cancer death after HPV jab. |

Experts hailed these findings as “astounding” and said that a future where “almost nobody gets cervical cancer is now firmly in sight.” |
